Waukee School Board Appoints New Member
The new face will replace Chuck Van Devander, who resigned last month to take a job in Texas.
There is a new member on the Waukee school board.
The board voted 4-0 Monday night to appoint Tracy Lepeltak to the seat vacated by Chuck Van Devander, who resigned last month to take a job in Texas, according to the Des Moines Register.
Board president Susan Bunz and Jerry Ripperger were absent, the article said.
Lepeltak served on the board from 2000 to 2009 and has worked as a guidance counselor in the Des Moines school district, the Register reported. She said she isn’t planning on seeking a full term in September.
