UPDATE: Waukee City Website Hacked, Service Restored

Officials said no personal or confidential information was disclosed when hackers hit the city website.

UPDATE:
The City of Waukee's website was restored, a check found early Wednesday afternoon, after being shut down following an attack by a hacker.

The city's website was hacked over the weekend and Monday and was down for repairs Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Waukee city officials met Tuesday to discuss the hacking incident, the Des Moines Register reports.

City Administrator Tim Moerman said at Monday’s Waukee City Council meeting that a hacker changed the display users typically see when they log on to find information about city services and sent users to unintended websites.

City officials do not have any suspect or suspects and do not believe Waukee was specifically targeted, the Register said.
