Firefighters Called When Tire Burns, Car's Occupants Arrested: Waukee Police Reports

July 1

Javier Lisboa of the 400 block of Southeast Whitetail Lane, Waukee, reported a bicycle and Garmin GPS system valued at $1,300 were taken after his garage door was left open.

Deanna Smith of the 1900 block of Southeast Olson Drive, Waukee, reported a bicycle was taken from her garage when the door was left open. The loss was valued at $126.

July 4

Randall Perkins, 19, of 4300 S.E. Mount Vernon Road, Cedar Rapids, and Heidi Perkins, 34, of 4300 S.E. Mount Vernon Road, Cedar Rapids were both arrested in the 600 block of Southeast University Avenue. Police charged the pair with interference with official acts. Authorities said their vehicle was stopped because it had a flat tire and they were driving on the rim. The Waukee Fire Department was called out because the tire caught on fire. When the pair did not obey officers, they were arrested. Officer do not know how the two are related.
