Police Blotter: Thefts Reported at Two Waukee Businesses

Waukee police responded to several calls last week including thefts at two area businesses.

Waukee police responded to two reports of theft last week - one at a gas station and the other at a Waukee restaurant. On Nov. 16, a theft of fuel was reported at Casey's General Store at 1955 S.E. University Avenue. Loss was reported at $35. Then, on Nov. 17 around 9:30 p.m., a Waukee woman reported theft of a wallet in the 200 block of Hickman Road. Waukee police responded to several reports last week including two incidents of theft.

On Nov. 8, an iPhone was allegedly taken from Waukee High School. It was valued at $200. The phone was not recovered. Criminal Mischief On Oct. 29, a Waukee man reported criminal mischief to a mailbox in the 100 block of Kaylin Drive. The mailbox was found damaged. No cause was determined. Damage was estimated at $70. Also on Oct. 29, a Waukee woman reported criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 500 block of Southeast University. On Oct. 29, a Waukee woman reported the theft of an Apple iPod in the 900 block of Warrior Lane. The item was taken from Waukee Middle School. The iPod was valued at $300. It has not been recovered. Police Blotter: Halloween Decor Fails to Scare Away Thieves

A Waukee homeowner says thieves snatched a piece of Halloween decor from his home.

A popular piece of Halloween decor failed to scare away theives in one Waukee neighborhood last week. On the morning of Oct. 16, a homeowner in the 400 block of Painted Woods Drive reported an object missing from his front porch. Thieves had allegedly snatched a scarecrow from the home. It was valued at $50. No other damage was reported to the residence. Police Blotter: Theft, a Warrant and Possession in Waukee

Waukee police reported a theft, a failure to appear and possession in last week's police blotter.

Sept. 24 A Waukee man reported a theft in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue. Sept. 27 Maxie Richards, 46, of Waukee was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for failure to appear. Sept. 30 Michael Sites, 23, of Waukee was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aug. 20 Theresa Purdy of Waukee reported a burglary to a residence in the 800 block of Collins Drive. Aug. 22 Dean Hunter of Waukee reported a burglary to a garage and criminal mischief in the 800 block of Maple Street. Aug. 26 Ginny Smith, 42, of Waukee was arrested on a Polk County warrant for fifth degree theft. Kum & Go reported a theft of fuel in the 300 block of Southeast University Avenue.
