The Waukee boys golf team captured its second state title in three years at this weekend's Class 4-A state meet.
The Waukee boys golf team shot a 617 in the final round of state tournament golf Saturday to win its second team championship in three years. The Warriors edged out Cedar Rapids Kennedy by a single shot, shooting 308 on Friday and 309 Saturday. All six Waukee players shot under 80 in Friday’s first round, with a similar second round Saturday at the Tournament Club of Iowa. The 2012 golf season has been a successfull one for Waukee golf. The Waukee girls’ team won the Class 4-A championship in May. The Waukee High School girls soccer team faced defending state champion Ankeny High School in the semifinal round of the state soccer tournament. The Warriors fell, 2-1.
In their first season of Class 3A play, the Waukee High School girls soccer team made it all the way to the semi-final round of the Iowa State High School Girls Soccer Tournament. Unfortunately, the season ended there with a loss to the defending state champions, Ankeny High School, 2-1. Waukee's Steph Williams scored the Warriors' only goal in the first minute of the second half. Aubree Larson scored both of Ankeny's game-winning goals, the latter just minutes before the final buzzer. In state play Thursday, the Waukee girls booted favorites Dowling Catholic from contention with a 1-0 win over the Maroons. The Waukee girls finish the season, 14-6.

Submitted by Chris McLinden* On Monday, while the rest of Waukee High School was still celebrating the Waukee Girls' Class 4A track championship from last weekend, stressing out over finals and looking forward to summer (or in the seniors' case – preening for graduation and looking forward to the rest of their life), the Waukee High School girls golf team went out to Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes for their 4A State Qualifier and did what they have been doing all year – win. The Lady Warriors, for the most part, have been dominating their opponents all season and setting school records in the process. The Waukee boys' basketball team faced Iowa City West in the quarterfinal round of the class 4A Iowa State Boys' Basketball Tournament Wednesday. Waukee fell to Iowa City, 74-52.
The Waukee High School boys' varsity basketball team ended its season Wednesday against Iowa City West in the class 4A quarterfinal round of the Iowa State Boys' Basketball Tournament. The Waukee High School girls basketball team upset Mason City today in a 49-47 win in the last second of the Class 4A quarterfinal game at Wells Fargo Arena.
What a way to win a basketball game! The 6th-ranked Waukee Warrior girls topped 3rd-ranked Mason City with a final score of 49-47 in quarterfinal state tournament hoops at Wells Fargo Arena. The girls scored with one second left to play bumping them into the Class 4A semifinal game against Iowa City West. The semifinal game will be played at 12 p.m. Friday also at Wells Fargo Arena. This is the Waukee girls' fifth trip to the state tournament.

They will play Mason City today at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines. If they win, the girls will play in the semifinal round of class 4A play on Friday, March 2 at 12:00 p.m. After a single point upset over Des Moines Hoover Tuesday night, the Waukee High School boys basketball team will head into tournament play next week also at Wells Fargo Arena.
