Incumbent Gene Krumm is seeking a third term as Dallas County Auditor. Krumm is running against Republicans Vicki Klein and Troy Weiland in the June 5 primary.
After eight years as Dallas County Auditor, Gene Krumm isn't quite ready to call it quits. Krumm admits, even as late as last year, his retirement seemed imminent. Instead, he remains at the helm of the Dallas County Auditor's office, where he hopes to serve a third term. He says there are still things he'd like to accomplish. "I figured this would be my last term," said Krumm. "When I saw that this voter system wouldn’t be in place, I wanted to make sure it would get done. I wanted to see it to completion." Krumm's pet project, the Precinct Atlas voting program, is an integrated database of voter information accessible at each precinct via laptop. Incumbent Chad Leonard and his challenger, Jim Romar, will duke it out in the June 5 primary for the Dallas County Sheriff's seat.
The official deadline to file paperwork in the Dallas County primary came and went on March 28 leaving behind two contenders for one hotly-contested sheriff's seat. Incumbent Chad Leonard and challenger Jim Romar, both Republicans, will be battling it out in the June 5 primary to become the next Dallas County Sheriff. Leonard, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, has been the Dallas County Sheriff since January 2007. Born and raised in Spencer, Leonard first began working as a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff in 1997. In 2001, he was offered the position of chief of police in Dallas Center where he worked until he was elected as Dallas County Sheriff in 2007. Leonard lives in Dallas Center with his wife, Michelle.
