ENCORE: Winterfest Comes to Waukee

The annual Winterfest celebration will be back tonight in downtown Waukee.

You better watch out, you better not cry. Santa Claus is coming to Waukee. The annual Waukee winter tradition known as Winterfest is happening this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Triangle Park in downtown Waukee. Matt Jermier, director of the Waukee Parks & Recreation, said the event is one of the most popular gatherings in the city of Waukee. "I think it's the event we look forward to every year," he said. "It's always cold but that never scares anybody off as far as citizens showing up. We always have a good turnout and it's a way to get the community out and together."
