Police Blotter: Burglary Reported in Waukee

Waukee police responded to a report of burglary to a residence last week in Waukee.

A Waukee homeowner reported a burglary to a home last week in Waukee. On Nov. 22, just after 10 a.m., burglars entered a home in the 700 block of Southeast Jonas Circle. They gained access to the home through a window. Nothing was reported missing. Criminal Mischief On Oct. 29, a Waukee man reported criminal mischief to a mailbox in the 100 block of Kaylin Drive. The mailbox was found damaged. No cause was determined. Damage was estimated at $70. Also on Oct. 29, a Waukee woman reported criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 500 block of Southeast University. The vehicle was found to have been scraped in the parking lot of Waukee High School. Total damage was estimated at $400. On Nov. 4, another report of criminal mischief to a vehicle…

Police responded to two reports of burglary at two separate construction sites in Waukee last week.

Waukee police responded to two burglaries last week, both to construction sites in the same Waukee neighborhood. Early on Oct. 29, a male working on a construction site reported wire missing from residence under construction in the 1200 block of Southeast University Avenue. Later that morning, a second male reported a similar loss also in the 1200 block of Southeast University Avenue. There was no damage to either site. Police Blotter: Waukee Woman Reports Home Burglary

A Waukee woman reported a burglary to her residence last week.

On Oct. 22 around 8:40 a.m., a Waukee woman reported a home burglary in the 1600 block of Southeast Holiday Crest Circle. A metal cabinet valued at $20 was taken from the apartment. There was no forced entry or damage to the residence. The report states that a family member may have been responsible. Police Blotter: Service Van Burglarized in Waukee

A service van belonging to a local broadband company was burglarized in Waukee last week.

Police say a service vehicle was the target of burglars last week in Waukee. A van owned by Windstream Communications of Des Moines was parked at a residence in the 200 block of Terrace Drive on the evening of Oct. 10. The next morning, it was reported that burglars allegedly took a portable fiber optic tester and a hard plastic case from the vehicle overnight. The loss was estimated at $5,145. No word on how the theives gained entry to the vehicle. Waukee Police responded to several reports of theft and criminal mischief last week in Waukee.

Aug. 20 Theresa Purdy of Waukee reported a burglary to a residence in the 800 block of Collins Drive. Aug. 22 Dean Hunter of Waukee reported a burglary to a garage and criminal mischief in the 800 block of Maple Street. Aug. 26 Ginny Smith, 42, of Waukee was arrested on a Polk County warrant for fifth degree theft. Kum & Go reported a theft of fuel in the 300 block of Southeast University Avenue.

Jessica, We currently don't separate out our statistics by building security type, but that is a good question. June 15 Mar Sperry of Waukee reported a theft in the 1000 block of Southeast Rosewood Drive. Cherie Lawson of Waukee reported a theft in the 300 block of Southeast Jonas Circle.
