PHOTOS: Waukee YMCA Kicks Off Y Partners Campaign
The Y Partners Rally was held Jan. 26 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines. The Rally was the official start to the Y Partners fundraising campaign.
On Jan. 26, the YMCA of Greater Des Moines kicked off its annual Y Partners (formerly the Partners with Youth) fundraising campaign.
Y Partners awards millions of dollars in scholarships to low income families who cannot afford to participate in the programs or become members of the YMCA. The YMCA overall hopes to raise $1.3 million this year.
The raised $140,135 during the 2011 campaign and awarded $264,319 in scholarships. Their goal this year is to raise more than $150,000.
