Sunday Family Concert Series Starts July 7 with Rebyl Road

The Waukee Area Arts Council announces the new concert series Sundays in Centennial, which kicks off July 7.

The Waukee Area Arts Council announces the new series Sundays in Centennial sponsored by Prairie Meadows. A free concert and family activities will be presented every Sunday in July at Centennial Park in Waukee.

Thanks to a grant by Prairie Meadows the Waukee Area Arts Council is able to extend the summer music program into July with this new series.

“The generous grant from Prairie Meadows has allowed the Arts Council to feature some great high-energy bands for a family-friendly night of free entertainment in the park,” said Gail Lawrence, Waukee Area Arts Council. “Come out and join us! We are hoping for a good turnout and this will begin a new tradition in future years for Sunday evenings in July.”

The free evenings begin at 6:30 with a family activity each week and the music starts at 7 p.m.

Family Activities 6:30 to 7 p.m. includes:
Sunday, July 7th – Michael Hope – a family sing along with Waukee singer/songwriter;
Sunday, July 14th – Jazz in July – Music and Activities from 6-8 pm;
Sunday, July 21st  – Magician Jonathan Mays – Magic show for the whole family;
Sunday, July 28th – Jester Puppets – Fabulous original puppet show;

The music lineup includes: 
Sunday, July 7th  – Rebyl Road – Country/Blues/Southern Rock Band; 
Sunday, July 14th – The Jazz Page  – Metro Arts’ Jazz in July (6:00 – 8:00 pm); 
Sunday, July 21st  – Circular Revolution – Classic Rock Band; 
Sunday, July 28th – Brother Trucker – Americana Roots.
