Waukee, Ankeny to Clash in Iowa High School Girls State Soccer Semifinals
The CIML rivals will meet for the second straight year. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.
Two central Iowa girls soccer teams have their eyes set on a Class 3A state soccer championship.
But who will make it to that final round?
CIML rivals Ankeny and Waukee will meet Friday night in the semifinal round of the Iowa High School girls soccer tournament. Tonight's game will be played at the Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines, starting at 7:15 on Field 9.
This is the second straight year the two teams have competed in the semifinals, according to the Des Moines Register. Ankeny walked away with the win in 2012.
Ankeny showed no mercy during the quarterfinals Thursday when it took down Iowa City High in a 4-0 victory, the Register reported. The Warriors also advanced after a 3-0 shutout victory against Linn-Mar, the article said.
