Splash: Register Young Swimmers for Waukee Swim Clinic

The Waukee Schools swim coaches will hold an advanced level clinic for youth swimmers in the district April 1-5 at the Waukee Family YMCA.

The Waukee Warrior Swim Coaching staff will team up to run a technique-focused swim clinic, according to a news release.

This focus will be done by using drills, videos, demonstrations, and high school swimmers.

Coaches will finetune strokes, turns, and starts so that swimmers can become faster and more efficient in the water.

The clinic will be held April 1‐5 at the Waukee Family YMCA Pool.

The session time for this clinic will run from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Waukee coaches Dan Briggs, Shelley Twigg, and Cass Zorn are offering this clinic to any Waukee Rays, Waukee middle school students, or elementary swimmers, along with anyone else in the district or involved with a sharing agreement, interested in improving their skills

Cost for this clinic is $50 regardless of how many days attended. Checks can be made payable to “Waukee Swimming” and brought the first night of the clinic.

The registration deadline is March 31 or until capacity is met at 50 swimmers in kindergarten through eighth grades. Space is limited, so sign up early.

Swimmers must be able to swim across the pool several times unassisted to be considered into this clinic as it is a very advanced level of lesson.

All proceeds from this clinic will go to the Waukee High School Swimming accounts.

The swim coaching staff includes: Twigg, Briggs, Zorn and head diving coach Gail Rotich.
