NFL Draft: 'Diamond in the Rough' Knott Lands with Philadelphia Eagles

The former Waukee high school star Jake Knott will get a chance to play in the NFL.

Former Waukee and Iowa State football standout Jake Knott didn't get selected in the 2013 NFL draft, but he still has a shot at an NFL career.

The burly linebacker was picked up after the draft as a free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles and will get a chance to earn a spot with the team.

The Bleeding Green Nation blog calls Knott a "diamond in the rough."

While a lot is being made about Eagles latest draft picks, the team also was able to add some pretty good talent with quite a few undrafted free agents. One of those possible "diamonds in the rough" is Jake Knott. Knott is one of the top UFA's from this year's draft and has a real shot of making the Eagles. The former Iowa State Cyclone is a linebacker and special teams player, with the latter position likely to help him in his quest to make it in the league.
