8-Year-Olds Got Game: Iowa Youth Softball Team Tops in U.S.

The Waukee Warriors are heading to the youth softball World Series in Kansas City. Help them raise money for the trip by going to their car wash at Fareway in Waukee on Saturday morning.

A girls softball team from Waukee is ranked No. 1 in the nation.

And, how about this? The girls from the Waukee Warriors are only 8 and 9 years old.

The WAC 8U GOLD Waukee youth softball team is headed to Kansas City to compete at the World Series on July 10th, and the team is holding a car wash to help raise money for the trip at the Fareway in Waukee at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, KCCI reports. 

Giggling Riley Schafer and Isabel Loeffelholz told KCCI their aspirations for the team are a bit more grand. 

"I think it would be better to do the world though," Schafer said.
