Iowa students will take charge of their education at the Iowa Student Learning Institute conference at Waukee High School on Saturday, October 5.
This conference is the first of its kind, developed by students for students. The theme of the conference is “How should schools be redesigned for learning in the 21st century?”

This conference enables Iowa students to discuss education, learning, and preparation for future jobs in a setting with some of Iowa’s best education professionals, including Angela Maiers, Trace Pickering, Shawn Cornally, Shannon Miller, and Jake Kerber.
Keynotes from Scott McLeod, Duane Magee, and Zak Malamed will also be presented that morning to influence transformative thinking throughout the day.

ISLI aims to change our state’s approach to education by giving a stage to the powerful voice of students with the support of their educators. Some highlights of the conference include Project Based Learning, Standards Based Grading, 1:1 Computing Initiatives, virtual field trips, and much more.
