Seven Seeking 4 Seats in Sept. 10 School Board Election

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Six of the seven candidates seeking three seats in Tuesday’s Waukee school board election answered questions ranging from to the importance of Iowa Core requirements to when school should start in the fall, the Des Moines Register reports.

Sarah Bowman, David Cunningham, Dale Finnegan, Wendy Liskey, Patrick Nehls and incumbent Mary Scheve took part in the forum. Candidate Nancy Umsted did not attend.

Three current  board members – Russ Wiesley, Dave Duncan and Tracy Lepeltak – aren’t seeking re-election. All positions are elected at-large.
