Homecoming Events Continue Today With a Parade, Pep Rally and Coronation

If ever there was an event that really showcases what Homecoming is all about, it would be the game, of course. The parade and coronation would come a close second.

We are inching ever-that-much-closer to tomorrow night's big Homecoming game against Des Moines Roosevelt. Aren't you excited, Waukee?

Well, I am and honestly, you should be too.

Start by getting into the spirit of today's dress-up theme. It's "Go Together Day" were students, teachers and other staff are dressing up as their favorite pairing ala Brad and Angelina, peanut butter and jelly or Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan (or Barack Obama and Joe Biden if you swing the other direction.)

Parade, Pep Rally and Coronation

Three of Homecoming's biggest events are happening tonight.

The Waukee homecoming parade, pep rally and coronation will be held tonight beginning at 6 p.m.

The parade begins at the old Waukee Elementary School, 400 Locust St., at 6 p.m. The route will follow the traditional Waukee route. All members of the Waukee community are encouraged to participate and are encouraged to be lined up by 5 p.m. if they'd like to participate.

A community pep rally, and coronation of the Homecoming court will follow the parade at Waukee Stadium.
