Growth Means Another Elementary School is on the Horizon

Waukee, the fastest growing school district in Iowa, is making plans to build its eighth elementary school.

The fast-growing Waukee school district plans to ask voters to approve another bond issue in February after recently approving the the purchase of 20 acres of land for its eighth elementary school.

The $600,000 sale of land, owned by Perfect Acres LLC, will close in mid-October, the Des Moines Register reports.

The property is located north of Hickman Road in the vicinity of Alice’s Road, which is targeted for development. Building there will require that Douglas Parkway and Dartmoor Drive be extended.
