Iowa House Candidate Rob Taylor Hosts 'Taste of Iowa' House Party

Rob Taylor, candidate for Iowa House District 44, and his wife Dr. Christi Taylor, hosted a backyard campaign fundraiser Tuesday at their home in West Des Moines.

Rob Taylor, candidate for Iowa House District 44, and his wife Dr. Christi Taylor, hosted a backyard “Taste of Iowa ” campaign fundraiser Tuesday at their home in West Des Moines.

More than 125 supporters gathered for the celebration with remarks by Congressman Tom Latham, Waukee Mayor Bill Peard and candidate Taylor.

Taylor spoke of the importance of "showcasing and supporting Iowa business & industry in our recovering economy." He then emphasized the need for common sense, down to earth, practical leadership in the Iowa House.

The event showed appreciation to Iowa’s farmers, small businesses and food industry by featuring a variety of Iowa-grown and produced foods and refreshments. The specialty dishes were prepared and served by a creative team of volunteers from Fleming’s, students from the DMACC Culinary Institute and many of Taylor's family friends.

Taylor is small businessman, a lifelong Des Moines metro resident and a graduate of Lincoln High School. He received undergraduate degrees from Des Moines Area Community College and Upper Iowa University along with a graduate degree from William Penn University. He and his wife Christi, an internist with The Iowa Clinic, reside in West Des Moines and have four children.
