Tickets On Sale for Celebration in Brass at Waukee Stadium
Waukee Band Boosters have pitched in to return the drum and bugle corps competition to town.
Tickets are on sale now for the July 10 Celebration in Brass drum and bugle corps competition, to be held at Waukee Stadium, 555 S.E. University Ave.
The cost is $15 per person for the show, which starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, according to an announcement.
The Colts Youth Organization from Dubuque and the Waukee High School Band Boosters teamed up to return the Drum Corps International contest last year before a near sellout crowd in Waukee.
Seven of the nation’s top marching musical units will compete in this year’s show, including the Blue Devils from Concord, Calif., who return from last year and have won a record 14 DCI world championships.
They’ll be joined by the six-time world champion Santa Clara (Calif.) Vanguard, the host Colts, “Iowa’s Ambassadors of Music", the Boston (Mass.) Crusaders, the Cascades from Woodinville, Wash. and Dubuque’s Colt Cadets – CYO’s more local, younger corps. The Academy from Tempe, Ariz. and Forte will make its Celebration in Brass debut.
