“The show is a real highlight on the summer entertainment calendar,” said David Cunningham, event chairman for the Waukee High Band Boosters. "It brings people together from all over the state and from all parts of the country. We are thrilled to bring a show of this caliber to our community and it is equally important as a fundraiser to meet the needs of our growing band program.”

Celebration in Brass is one of more than 100 events as part of the annual Drum Corps International (DCI) “Marching Music’s Major League” tour throughout the United States each summer. These young performers, 18-21 years old – 72% college students and many are music majors — pay for the opportunity to travel the country all summer long to perfect a 12-minute program of precision marching, with drum lines, bugles and color guards. Each individual corps travels the United States with three or four tour motor coaches with multiple support vehicles carrying their equipment and mobile kitchens.
