In today's Daily Dose, we talk Patch's Readers' Choice contests, Drake Relays winners and some wet, wet weather coming your way this week,

Good morning, Waukee! It's Monday. Can we all just crawl back into bed and call it a week?

Seriously, no one wants to hear that their entire week is going to be one big chance of rain, least of all me. Granted, yes, we could use it to green up the grass and such but at the rate we're going, I might need to build an ark.

Speaking of building things, my husband and I are thinking about buying a new backyard play gym for the kids. I've heard great things about . Have you worked with them before? What's your opinion? Drop me a note in the comments below. I'd love to get feedback from people who've used them.

I have to tell you, I was blown away by the massive amount of participation in and I suspect our winner, Brian Allen and White Shutter Photography, was too. He seemed so genuinely excited to have won. Check out the story this morning on Waukee Patch and remember to leave him a note of congratulations on his

Winners, winners everywhere this weekend in Waukee. The boys and girls track teams did a phenomenal job at the 2012 Drake Relays. One team, in particular, broke a record set by a Des Moines metro high school. Read all about it .

Did you remember that Mother's Day is on May 13? Well, mark it on your calendar and vote in our latest Readers' Choice contest for "Best Place to Pamper Mom" on Mother's Day. I'm hoping my husband and kids will read this and get the hint that I just want a little relaxation and the chance to get pretty on Mother's Day. Is that too much to ask for? I think not. Cast your vote today.

Just a reminder, the has cancelled all children's programming through June 1 to prepare for the Library's Summer Reading program. Children's programming will start up again on Monday, June 4.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, I give you, the weather. According to the National Weather Service, we're in for a great day today, complete with a little sun, but the rest of the week looks a little wet.

Monday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 71. West northwest wind at 7 mph becoming south southwest.

Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South wind around 8 mph.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a south wind between 9 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. South southwest wind between 11 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

That's all I have for now. Here's to a happy Monday. May it feel over before it begins.
