Don Your Neon for Waukee Fest This Weekend

Waukee Fest has everything you'd expect from a great community festival. Join your neighbors this weekend.

If there’s still some life in those neon fashions from the 1980s, Waukee residents are being encouraged to resurrect them for this year’s Waukee Fest, “Celebrate the Past ‘80s Style,” to be held Friday and Saturday.

The two-day festival includes everything you’d expect in a great community gathering: a parade, live music, food, fireworks, a 5K glow run, games for kids and lots of opportunity for recreational sports, the Des Moines Register reports.

One big event is a ribbon cutting on the new Waukee Community Center, 355 Seventh St., at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Evening activities are on the Triangle. A full schedule of activities and locations is found on the city of Waukee web site.
