City Wide Clean-Up Saturday in Waukee

Waukee residents will have the opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste, old tires and other unwanted items Saturday morning.

Waukee residents are invited to bring their household hazardous waste to the parking lot, Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The following items are deemed acceptable/unacceptable for drop-off:

Accepted: Aerosol cleaners, caulk, metal polishes, pesticides, roofing tar, stain & varnish, weed killer, wallpaper remover, contact cement & resin, drain & oven cleaners, gasoline & kerosene, oil-based & lead-based paint, paint remover & thinner, rat, mouse, & gopher poison, rechargeable batteries, windshield washer solution.
Unacceptable: Ammunition, asbestos, explosives, fire extinguisher, used oil filters, latex paint, motor oil, lead acid batteries, needles, radioactive material, compressed gas cylinders.

Also Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Waukee citizens and rural Dallas County residents are welcome to bring old tires to the old Waukee Public Works building at 1205 sixth St. Rims WILL NOT be accepted at this collection.

City Wide Clean Up

The annual City Wide Spring Clean Up will take place on Saturday. Residents are asked to have all items on the curb by 7 a.m.

The following items are NOT accepted: tires, hazardous materials, batteries, concrete, asphalt, bricks, anything over 6 feet long.
