Free Home Buyer Education Classes Coming to Des Moines May 30

Home buyer education sessions will be held May 30, and are free and open to the public.

The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA), Iowa Association of REALTORS®, Iowa Home Ownership Education Project (IHOEP) and the Des Moines Area Association of REALTORS® are partnering to bring Des Moines area home buyers free educational sessions.

The seminar entitled, Free Home Buyer Education Series: Unique Iowa Programs & Information to Get You Started, will be held in Des Moines on Thursday, May 30, and is free to the public.

Program topics include state mortgage and down payment assistance programs, highlighting new mortgage credit certificate programming; information on the benefits of owning a home; and the necessary steps on how to begin the home buying process.

IFA staff members and housing counselors will be on hand to answer questions. The seminar is hosted by the Iowa Association of REALTORS® and the Des Moines Area Association of REALTORS® and will be held at the Iowa Association of REALTORS® Office, 1370 NW 114th. St., #100, Clive.

The program will be offered at two times: 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m. Home buyers may attend either session. Please RSVP at IowaFinanceAuthority.gov/Registration.
