Waukee is Poised for an Economic Boom

I’m totally excited about last week’s announcement of a $5.29 million DOT grant to help with the extension of Alice’s Road from University Avenue to Ashworth Road. The impact of the Alice’s Road corridor project on the city of Waukee, and its residents, is going to be huge.

As a resident and Realtor, I’m eager for the project to get further under way. From the new residential building lots, to the added retail and commercial businesses, to the new green spaces, the Alice’s Road corridor is going to be an economic boom to our city.

Perhaps most important will be the improved access to Waukee for our residents, as well as commuters from surrounding areas.

Long term, the Alice’s Road corridor will connect all of the way to the Cumming Road (County Road G4R), which will further reduce travel time and improve access to Waukee and the far western suburbs for people traveling from southern Dallas, Madison and Warren counties.

Kudos to Waukee’s city planners and developers for this week’s grant win as well as for their vision for the project overall.
