For most central Iowa communities, October sales remained flat this year compared to last, including Waukee. However, the western half of Des Moines, Ankeny, West Des Moines and Winterset all saw increases in the number of homes sold last month.

Although Waukee sales have remained steady, the number of days a home was on the market before selling decreased from an average of 110 days on the market in 2010 to 86 days this year. Homes are also selling faster in Grimes, Johnston, and Urbandale while days on the market increased significantly in Adel and Altoona.
