What to Do This Weekend in Waukee

Friday: In Service at the Waukee Public Library

Due to an in-service at the Waukee Public Library, they will be open from 12:30-5:30 p.m. today (Friday.) The Library will resume its regular hours on Saturday.

Saturday: Waukee Community Blood Drive

The Waukee Community Blood Drive will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in the Parish Hall at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee.

Walk-ins are welcome or appointments can be scheduled online at www.lifeservebloodcenter.org or by calling (800) 287-4903.

Saturday: Round-a-Bout at Mickey's Irish Pub

Still like that old time rock and roll? The classic rock cover band Round-a-Bout is talented and a whole lot of fun. The combination of advanced guitar work and powerful, high energy vocals makes this a band you don't want to miss! The show starts at 9 p.m. Saturday night at Mickey's Irish Pub in Waukee. There's no cover charge to attend.

Come out and support the bar Waukee Patch reader's voted "Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day."

Saturday: National Kidney Foundation: From Silos to Teams- Tackling Risks for Cardiovascular Disease

The National Kidney Foundation is hosting "From Silos to Teams - Tackling Risks for Cardiovascular Disease" on Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ramada Tropics Resort, 5000 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines

This half-day, live CME/CE activity focuses on the benefits of a team approach to CVD risk management that incorporates the different inter-professional skill sets as well as available community resources to get more patients with risk factors to established goals set by evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.  Learning Objectives:  Recognize CVD and the risk factors associated, foster a team approach for CVD risk reduction in high risk patients, outline patient care strategies.
