Waukee's Taylor Hale Gets Overnight Release from Hospital

An update on Taylor Hale's CarePages page today said the 14-year-old was given the OK for two overnight visits and could be released from the hospital as soon as Oct. 21.

It was good news all around for 14-year-old Taylor Hale of Waukee and her family today.

On Hale's CarePages page today, Stacy Henningsen, Hale's mother, wrote that doctors had cleared her daughter for two overnight visits home.

"Today was a big day with our 'Care Conference' meeting this morning," Henningson wrote. "We met with the therapists and doctors about the progress Taylor has made and where they see things heading in the next few weeks."

"Taylor has been approved to have an overnight pass on Friday with mom and Sunday with dad. Her estimated discharge date from the hospital is Thursday next week, October 21st! We are keeping our fingers crossed that all goes as planned with therapy this week and the overnight visits that we can bring her home next week to finish her outpatient therapy."

Henningsen wrote that Hale's return to school is imminent though it could be delayed for a few more weeks based on her progress.

"We can't thank the community, family and friends for all your support during this past month and we ask that you continue to pray for Taylor's recovery," she added.
