Police: Waukee Woman Resists Arrest, Punches Officer in the Chest
An argument leads to a charge of assaulting a police officer last week in Waukee.
Late in the evening of April 24, Waukee Police responded to a domestic call in the 100 block of Northview Drive.
There, police said, they found Billie Hughes, 36, of 1770 92nd St. in West Des Moines, arguing with someone at that residence.
When approached, Hughes began arguing with Waukee Police Officer Jeremy Long and refused to follow his instructions, police said. She then allegedly punched Long in the chest. The officer was not injured.
Hughes was arrested and charged with assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts. She was booked into the Dallas County Jail.
