Waukee Gets a Taste of New York Dining
Residents of Waukee can get a taste of Italian and Greek fare, along with American dishes, at New York Restaurant.
Residents of Waukee do not have to travel far to try authentic Italian and Greek food.
New York Restaurant on Hickman Road has been open for two months and offers Italian, Greek and American sandwiches, pasta, seafood, pizza and steaks.
Agim Kasoski is the restaurant's owner.
"We have the best food in Waukee: American, Italian and Greek cuisine," Kasoski said.
The most popular item served is the gyro. Along with the gyro, items like steak de burgo, chicken mesquite and baked cavatelli are other popular items.
American food, beer, wine, a variety of salads, desserts and a kids menu is available.
“It’s nice, clean and very neat,” Kasoski said. “We have a variety of food, homemade soup. All meals come with a cup of soup and fries or onion rings.”
The salad bar features homemade derssing.
At New York Restaurant a party room for weddings or events can be reserved, holding 45 people. In the room is a television. The entire restaurant has three different televisions. Prices range from $6.95 to $17.85.
