Waukee Family YMCA to Offer Summer/Fall Swim Lessons; Registration Begins Friday

Registration for late summer/fall swim lessons at all six branches of the YMCA will begin this week.

 

Parents wishing to get their kids signed up for late summer/early fall swim lessons take note - registration at all six area YMCAs begins Friday.

Six branches of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines - including the Waukee Family YMCA - will be offer youth swim lessons this summer and early fall. Registration begins online this Friday, Aug. 3.

YMCA member registration begins at 5 a.m. online or at any one of the local branches. Non-member registration will begin two weeks prior to the star date. 

The Waukee Family YMCA will hold classes for children 6 months to age 3, preschool (ages 3-5), and school age (ages 6 and above).

The cost for the five-week sessions (one class per week) is $32.50 for Y members and $65 for non-members. The rate for the waterbabies course is $12 for Y members and $35 for non-members.

Adult beginner and intermediate swim lessons are also offered at the Waukee Family YMCA on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons.

Private lessons – four, 30-minute sessions – are also available. The fee for those lessons is $60 for Y members and $120 for non-members
