Two Waukee police officers may have gotten a little more than they bargained for on a routine call last week.
Around 10 p.m. on July 17, officers were called to a residence in the 20 block of Southeast Windfield Parkway on a report of an out-of-control teenager.
Officers Bill Daggett and Joseph Cox responded to the call where they found a combative 13 year-old male at home. The juvenile, who had allegedly assaulted his aunt, resisted arrest and began fighting with the two officers. Officer Cox sustained a kick from the teenager causing a minor injury.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with assault and assault to a law enforcement officer. His case will be referred to juvenile court.
