Parents Talk: What Happened to Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins?
In this week's Parents Talk, we discuss the disappearance of two Evansdale girls last week.
As a parent, I can't even imagine what it would be like if I ever lost a child. By death or disappearance, I'm certain I would be devastated.
That's why it's been so hard to watch the search for Lyric Cook-Morrissey and her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, the two young Evansdale girls who went missing on a bike ride, July 13.
In my head, as authorities talk about their search efforts, I just keep wondering how their moms are doing. Sure, I've seen their photos but that does nothing to tell me what's going on in their heads. If that was me, I'd probably keep a brave face but be inconsolable otherwise.
Just the other day, when authorities said the case was now classified as an abduction, my heart sank. The very idea that someone might have taken them - someone they don't know, someone who could possibly wish to harm them, made me choke back tears.
What do you think? As a mom or dad, what do cases like this do to you? What do you think happened to Lyric Cook-Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins? Tell us in the comments.

Cases like this remind me that we live in a crazy world where nothing can be taken for granted. All we can do is live for the day and refuse to let fear paralyze us.

Evil exists, and this is a reminder. People who harm children ought to be taken out of this world.
