Parents Talk: Is Jell-O Wrestling 'PG' or 'R' Rated?

Is one Iowa high school's homecoming tradition harmless fun or too racy?

A YouTube video of Cedar Falls High School girls wrestling in Jell-O while hundreds of students look on is causing a stir.

The video, which has been removed from YouTube, shows girls grappling in a giant pool of Jell-O at a Cedar Falls park, at times apparently trying to remove their opponent's clothing, pulling hair and hitting each other. You can watch parts of the video on KWWL's story about the incident.

Cedar Falls police said three officers were in the area for crowd control, and a picture on KWWL's website apparently shows one girl, wearing a bra but no shirt, embracing an officer.

Cedars Falls School Superintendent Mike Wells called the event, "unacceptable." Some students and parents, however, defended the Jell-O wrestling, saying it is a harmless homecoming tradition.

What do you think? Is Jell-O wrestling an acceptable high school homecoming tradition? Tell us in the comments.

They could clean it up a bit and still have fun. What's the Jello all about? Put the girls who want to cat fight into a clean, dry ring with boxing gloves and head gear on. That way they can have it out without pulling each other's tops off because if that activity continues the tradition will get nixed.

Eventually the government with the help of the media will put an end to everything that both adults and young people do for fun...actually "fun" itself will be found to be "offensive" to some people and therefore banned. If you don't like this activity don't participate..it's optional..and don't go watch..and cut back in the starch in your knickers.

A tradition? Since when? I'm pretty sure there's fun things kids can do without girls wrestling in jello.

I don't see a thing wrong with it. As they are kids, I say it's up to the parents, and none of our business.
