Leonid Meteor Shower 2012 Peak: Amazing Photos and Another Chance to Watch

Stargazers have some amazing photos of this morning's Leonid Meteor Shower. There's another chance to see the show live tonight.

If you were up early enough this morning, maybe you saw the Leonid Meteor Shower overhead, which was even more spectacular than advertised.

Speace.com has proof, with some amazing photos of the Leonid Meteor Shower 2012 peak. The "showers" weren't as heavy as depicted in the 1833 wood cutting accompanying this article, but still -- have a look.

The Leonid meteor shower 2012 conitnues tonight -- and then offers a second peak Tuesday morning. Tonight and into Sunday might be your best bet for watching, though. The weather forecast calls for a low in Waukee of only 44 overnight, but Tuesday could get down to the mid 30s.

Here's a Youtube video of the Leonid meteor shower.
