Incumbents Retain Seats in Dallas County Primary

In two hotly-contested Republican races, Dallas County Auditor Gene Krumm and Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard both retain their seats in the primary election.

Talk about your nail biters.

It was a close race in Tuesday's GOP primary election but incumbent Gene Krumm held onto his seat as the Dallas County Auditor with 882 votes over opponents Vicki Klein and Troy Weiland. Klein was a close second with 861 votes. Weiland finished with 663 votes.

In a second contentious race, Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard retains his seat with a majority vote over opponent Jim Romar. Leonard received 2,278 votes over Romar's 288 votes.

These numbers are unofficial pending the absentee ballot and write-in votes. Both Krumm and Leonard are running uncontested in the November election.
