So, today's the day, reader friends. It's the day we officially celebrate one year in Waukee. Happy birthday, Waukee Patch!

I have three kids so I know how momentous the first birthday can be. You have to throw a party, get a cake, take pictures of the birthday girl or boy smashing said cake all over their cute little face (I won't do that. Promise.) Anyway, it's big.

That said, we're having a party. A big one. It's tomorrow night - Friday - at Mickey's Irish Pub in Waukee from 5 to 9 p.m.

Did I mention that it's going to be big? It is. We'll have food, cake and even a ribbon-cutting courtesy of the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce to officially welcome us to the city. Pretty sweet, if you ask me.

I encourage everyone to come out and help us celebrate a great first year in Waukee. And thank you all, in advance, for your support and readership.
