Bring the whole family to Kindermusik's Fall Family Music Night at the Westside Dance Academy Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for some not-so-spooky family fun. The Waukee Family YMCA and Iowa Health Des Moines want you to celebrate a Healthy Halloween at the Waukee Family YMCA Saturday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There will be activities for parents and kids. You can trick-or-treat through the creepy corridors of the YMCA, find your way out of the obstinant obstacle course, do the “Frankenstein” at the Monster Mash Dance Party, sing and dance around the “campfire” with Jason Walsmith and Mike Butterworth of the Nadas, create your own cackle crunch (trail mix) and witches’ brew, learn to stay safe from fiery flames in the Blank Children’s Hospital Fire Safety House and show off your costumes. The first 500 children (ages 12 and under) will receive a commemorative trick-or-treat bag!
Come to the Waukee Family YMCA on Sunday for the "Run Before the Boo," a 5K, 1-mile walk or 50-yard kids' dash. Costumes are welcome. Registration and packet pick-up starts at 1 p.m., with the 5K starting at 2 p.m.
