UPDATE: Ann Romney to Hold Clive Rally for Women on Thursday

Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, will hold a Women for Mitt Rally in Clive. Tickets are available through the campaign website.

Ann Romney plans to hold a Women for Mitt rally on Thursday at By Design in Clive, according to a news release from the campaign.

Doors open at 3 p.m. and the event begins at 4:30 p.m. at the custom furniture store and design studio, located at 1490 N.W. 86th St. in Clive.

Tickets are available to see the wife of GOP presidential nominee and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

To request a ticket go to www.mittromney.com/states/iowa.

The visit marks the continuation of a steady stream of visits to Iowa by campaigns for both Romney and President Barack Obama. Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, Romney's running-mate, and Vice President Joe Biden were both in Iowa on Monday.

Obama has been to Iowa twice already this month.

Iowa is one of a handful of battleground states upon which the outcome of the 2012 election will hinge. National polling currently has Obama ahead of Romney, although Iowa remains a toss-up.

A woman who has never worked a day in her life can’t make her husband seem “in touch” with the American people. Is there any doubt that a Romney administration would favor the rich and increase the income gap in our country? Mitt is a pariah in Mormon Clothing and will stop at nothing to expand an empire of greed for the rich in this country by expanding tax cuts for the 1% of the wealthiest Americans. He’s out to gut the Middle Class for every red cent he can get. Will his sacred Mormon underwear grant him the protection and money to buy this election? See for yourself as Mitt dons his tighty-whities sent down from the Good Lord Himself at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/05/mitt-romneys-magic-mormon-underwear.html

Tax Cuts, oh you mean according to the IRS figures which show the top 1% pay 36.7% of all income taxes while collecting only 16.9% of income, the top 5% pay 59% of income taxes while collecting 31% of all income and the top 10% pay 70% of all income taxes in the US while collecting only 43% of all income. Which means the bottom 90% pay about 30% of all income taxes paid while collecting about 57% of all income.

So if we cut taxes on the rich they might then actually pay their fair share unlike you who probably doesn't pay anywhere near your fair share.

Great, maybe Ann will share why:

- She and Mitt have foreign bank accounts to bet against America.

- Why they have set up their horse RAFALCA as a business so they could save tens of thousands on their taxes.

- About their three multimillion dollar homes across the country.

1. Because you don't put all your eggs in one basket, especially if you have lots and lots of eggs
2. Because it is the smart thing to do, kinda like claiming your itemized deductions on your income tax return
3. That is called contributing to the economy, people had to build those homes and people maintain those homes. I guess he could of invested the money but then you would complain because he earned capital gains on the money and it wasn't taxed as high as you, oh thats right the Democrats controlled congress for 2 whole years and didn't change that so I guess you would have to yell at Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi.

WOW, you mean he could have paid 6.277 million instead of 6.2 million plus the 7 million in charitable contributions over the last 2 years, in other words he gave back to the American people 13.2 million on 45 million in income or an effective return to the American people of 29.3% granted only 13.8 was confiscated by the government the rest was voluntary. The American people have been so cheated. I am sure he consumed at least 6.2 million worth of government services. He needs to reimburse us for all those government programs he used to build his wealth. (sarcasm)

The only losers are the ones who call others losers. if you want to win, then stick up for your self, but not by criticising someone else. And as for Ann Romney, she has no clue as to what real people are like. She has lived in a gilded cage all her life. when they were "living in a garden apartment" they cashed in stocks and bonds to live. Neither has ever really worked a day in their lives. so what can they know about the real Americans? And BY DESIGN is off my list of places to buy.

Here’s something for all Iowa voters to consider as Ann and Mitt Romney turn up in the state this week: in virtually every county in Iowa today, women are paid significantly less FOR DOING THE SAME JOB as a man. Clearly, this is unfair and degrading to women and needs to change. But Ann's own husband Mitt is on the record as opposing the act that Barack Obama signed into law to help remedy this income imbalance. We can only assume Mitt considers women part of his “irresponsible” 47%. (Wonder if he's pointed that opinion out to his wife?) Paul Ryan, of course, voted against this fair pay legislation.

Want hard numbers? According to the non-partisan Census Bureau’s 2010 American Community Survey, women in Iowa’s Sioux County make just 50% of what men make; O’Brien County ratio is 54%, Decatur County, 48%. In Jefferson County, women make just 46% of what men make for the same work - less than half!

President Obama has proven he’ll continue to push for an America in which everyone, male and female, can expect a fair deal in their pursuit of the American dream. Romney wants to take women, binders full of women, back to 1950's pay levels. Barack Obama won’t let that happen.

If you run into Ann on Thursday, ask her why her husband voted against equal pay for equal work for women in America. Maybe paint the question on a sign and hold it up for her. It’ll be interesting to see her spin an answer for you.
