Weekend Weather: Seasonal Temperatures

According to the National Weather Service:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 60. East southeast wind between 7 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Friday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. South southeast wind between 9 and 13 mph.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 4pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 62. South southeast wind 9 to 13 mph becoming west northwest. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40. West northwest wind between 8 and 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunny and breezy, with a high near 62.

Saturday: Waukee Chamber of Commerce Legislative Coffee

Join the Waukee Chamber of Commerce as they host a Legislative Coffee this morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Waukee City Council Chambers at Waukee City Hall.

Residents are encouraged to come and enjoy a cup of coffee and converse with their local legislators. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to www.waukeechamber.com/registration. There is no charge to attend.

Saturday: Wesley the Cat's 20th Birthday at Waukee Hardware

Wesley the cat, Waukee Hardware's feline in residence, is turning 20 this weekend. Come to Waukee Hardware for cake, coffee and soda on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pet supplies, bird feed and birdhouses are 10 percent off in honor of Wesley. Birthday well wishers are encouraged to make a donation to Broderick Animal Clinic for the support of area stray pets.

Saturday: Waukee Sports

The Waukee High School boys tennis invitational vs. Ankeny, Boone, Pella Christian and Johnston High School will take place Saturday at the Waveland Tennis Courts, Des Moines. The Invitational gets underway at 8:30 a.m.

The Waukee High School boys 9th grade soccer tournament vs. Perry is at Perry High School Saturday at 9 a.m.

Waukee High School varsity and JV track teams will face West Des Moines Valley at Valley High School Saturday at 11 a.m.
