1) Teen Advisory Board at the Waukee Public Library

For students interested in leadership at the Waukee Public Library, the Teen Advisory Board will meet today at 3 p.m. Teen advisers volunteer at the library, plan teen programs and run fundraisers. They also assist in the selection of young adult materials. There are games and popcorn following the meeting. New members are always welcome.

2) Waukee Sports

The Waukee boys JV and varsity, and girls JV and varsity bowling teams will play Mason City today beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Warrior Lanes in Waukee.

The Waukee South Middle School girls 8th grade basketball team will play Johnston at Waukee South Middle School today at 4:30 p.m.

The Waukee boys 9th grade basketball team will play Southeast Polk today at Prairieview School at 4:45 p.m.

The Waukee girls 9th grade basketball team will play Southeast Polk today at Southeast Polk at 6:30 pm.

The Waukee boys JV basketball team will play Ames tonight at Waukee High School at 7 p.m.

3) Waukee Food Pantry and Free Clinic Open Today

The Waukee Food Pantry will be open today for those people living in the Waukee School District or for those with approval from local churches to receive non-perishable food and personal items. The pantry is open from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Waukee Free Clinic will also be open today, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The free clinic provides everything from high blood pressure treatment to care for a cold or even minor injury.

Both the food pantry and the free clinic are located in the basement of the Westview Church.

4) Waukee High School Band Concert

The Waukee High School winter band concert will be held this evening beginning at 7 p.m. in the Waukee High School auditorium.

5) Waukee School Board Meeting

The Waukee School Board will meet tonight for its regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. in the Waukee Community Schools District Office board room. The Waukee School Board now meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month. The next meeting of the school board will be Jan. 9.
