Five Things in Waukee: Rotary Meeting, Food Pantry, Chamber Luncheon and a Play

Here's everything you need to know today, Feb. 16, and some other stuff, too.

 

1) Rotary Club Meeting

Interested in joining the Rotary Club? The group will meet first thing this morning at 6:45 a.m. at the Des Moines Golf & Country Club in West Des Moines.

2) Waukee Area Food Pantry Services

Waukee Area Christian Services Food Pantry is open today from 9-11 a.m. offering non-perishable food and personal items for those living in the Waukee School District or those with approval from local churches. The food pantry is located in the lower level of Westview Church.

3) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for something fun to do for the kids today? Why not take a class at the Waukee Public Library? Time for Twos is for toddlers 2-3 years-old. Children and caregivers will enjoy songs, finger plays, and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Time for Twos meets at 11 a.m.

Pajama Time family story time will be held tonight at 6:45 p.m. It's open to the entire family.

4) Waukee Chamber of Commerce Networking Luncheon

Come to the Waukee Chamber of Commerce's Networking Luncheon today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Village at Legacy Pointe. The luncheon will be sponsored by Waukee Patch. Cost for the luncheon is $15 at the door.

5) South Middle School Presents "Dastardly Deeds at Yoursin Mine"

The South Middle School 6th graders will present, "Dastardly Deeds at Yoursin Mine" by Squire Fridell tonight at 7:15 p.m. at the Theatre Arts Center at Prairieview School.

"Dastardly Deeds at Yoursin Mine" is about the discovery of gold, a villain who wants control of the gold, and the heroes and heroines who save the day.

Tickets are $8 at the door or $6 online and can be purchased at www.seatyourself.biz/waukeetheatrearts.
