1) Activities at the Waukee Public Library

Looking for something to do today? Why not check out some of the activities at the Waukee Public Library? The Playful Preschoolers class, for children ages 3 to 6, includes read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes followed by a craft. It's offered at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. today.

Dewey Discoveries: Oh, Deer!, presented by Dallas County Conservation, will allow kids to see deer antlers and fur pelts as well as learn about deer tracks and their behavior. The class meets at 4:30 p.m.

2) Waukee Sports

Come out and support your Waukee Warrior sports teams today.

The girls JV and varsity and boys JV and varsity bowling teams will all face Marshalltown today in Marshalltown at the Totem Bowling bowling alley. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m.

The Waukee South Middle School boys 8th grade basketball team will play Ankeny Centennial at Northview Middle School in Ankeny today at 4:30 p.m.

The Waukee Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team will also play Ankeny at Waukee Middle School today at 4:30 p.m.

The Waukee High School girls basketball JV team will play Marshalltown at Waukee High School at 4:45 p.m. The varsity girls will play at 6:15 p.m.

The Waukee High School boys 10th grade basketball team plays Marshalltown at Prairieview School at 4:45 p.m. The Waukee High School varsity basketball squad will face Marshalltown at Waukee High School at 7:45 p.m.

3) Healthy for Life Seminar at Point of Grace

A Healthy for Life Seminar will be held today beginning at 5 p.m. at Point of Grace Church. The event is free and open to the public.

The seminar is intended to introduce individuals and families to local food producers and suppliers of organic produce, meats, eggs and prepared foods.

4) New Beginnings Childcare and Preschool Ribbon-Cutting

Join the Waukee Chamber of Commerce as it welcomes the New Beginnings Childcare and Preschool to the Chamber today with a ribbon-cutting. The event runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the ribbon-cutting at 5:45 p.m. Attendees ate encouraged to RSVP to www.waukeechamber.com/registration.

5) Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees Meeting 

The Waukee Public Library Board of Trustees will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Waukee Public Library.
