If there's one thing you should never do, its drink and drive. Well, that and assault a police officer.
In the evening hours of April 19, officers were called to the home of Jeffrey Glenn Cornick in the 1600 block of Southeast Holiday Circle where it was reported that Cornick, 43, and a friend were fighting.
When an officer arrived at the scene, Cornick, who was allegedly intoxicated, tried to run away from officers, according to a police report. Cornick resisted arrest and an altercation ensued, injuring Waukee police officer Brett Armstrong.
Armstrong reported cuts to his knuckles and scrapes on his left knee after trying to bring Cornick into custody. None of his injuries were serious.
Cornick, however, was arrested and charged with assault on a peace officer, public intoxication and interference with official acts. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail on $15,000 bond.
