Desmund Adams Outraises Opponents for Senate Seat

The official 2011 Iowa Ethics Campaign fundraising numbers were released this week and Desmund Adams appears to have outraised his opponents for Senate district 22.

The Iowa Ethics Campaign Disclosure Board released their official fundraising numbers for 2011. According to a news release from Desmund Adams' campaign office, Adams has raised more money than any of his opponents in the race for the Senate seat in district 22. 

According to the release, candidates running for office in Iowa must, on a regular basis, report all funds raised by individuals, PAC’s and from fundraisers to the Iowa Ethics Campaign Disclosure Board.  January 19 was the deadline for the first 2012 filing.  All candidates for Senate district 22 filed on time.

Desmund Adams' finance report shows that the Adams for Senate campaign raised more money than its opponents in 2011.  The Adams for Senate campaign raised $18,655 for the 2012 November election. Sen. Pat Ward (R) presently representing Senate district 30 raised a total of $11,095 mostly from PACS while her Republican primary opponent, pastor Jeff Mullen of Waukee, raised $13,195.

While Mullen has held fundraisers with national figures and Ward has depended on PACs, Adams has depended on meeting constituents in living rooms, community centers and on the street. Adams believes it is time for thoughtful, inclusive leadership that represents each voter in Senate district 22. Adams for Senate campaign wants to make certain that Clive, Waukee, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights are represented by a leader who is inclusive of all-no matter their party or faith or standing in life.  It is time for thoughtful, inclusive leadership that represents each voter in our district.
