ISU Cyclone's Royce White Holds Birthday Party as Charity Fundraiser

Iowa State basketball star — and soon-to-be NBA player — Royce White celebrated his 21st birthday Friday in Ames with a benefit for Orchard Place, a facility for emotionally trouble youths in Des Moines.

Hundreds of fans attended Royce White's birthday party at Hickory Hall Friday in Ames. The proceeds go to Orchard Place in Des Moines.

White, who has ties to the Walnut Creek and the YMCA of Greater Des Moines, was featured recently in a blog post by the Y's Derek Hannah. In his blog, Hannah wrote about how White has overcome some struggles to become a role model for youth in the YMCA community and beyond.
